Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

I call my Red 1970 "'mater" as in Tomater...the truck from the movie cars with the redneck accent. It fits.

Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

My 64 is named Clyde from the movie any which way but loose. My girlfriend bought Clyde a companion for the dash in the form of a stuffed Gorilla that she named Clint.

I am still pondering a good name for my 72 Cheyenne.

Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

My girl is named "Rosie".

I get it from the AC/DC song "Whole Lotta Rosie".

"She ain't exactly pretty
Ain't exactly small
Forty-two, thirty-nine, fifty-six
You could say she's got it all!"

Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

I just call mine Rhonda "my wifes name" Since I am in the garage all the time she wonders if I am cheating on her....I tell her yes, My other girl has a orange hair, a nice soft feel inside, great headlights, and when I turn her on she gives my a great ride.....and best of all she supplies the rubbers..

Big Al, I remember watching "Sylvester" from the old cartoon days and the name fits your truck perfectly!

I've always had names, or phrases, for my trucks. I had a white 1-Ton Dually that was my DD. So, the little white shortbed I was working on became "The Little White Truck". A few years ago, when I bought a SWB, LS-powered truck, the ad for the truck referred to the "custom mixed copper and white paint", so that truck became "Copper"!

But, my favorite named truck was back in the 1982 or 1983 when I bought a 1978 Chevy "Heavy Half". The truck was pure white and the PO had put white wagon wheels on the truck. With all the white, he names the truck "Honkey"!! LOL!! The name stuck and it remained Honkey while I had it. I sold the truck when I bought a new 1984 GMC shortbed, that was all white. Of course, that truck became "Mini-Honkey". Being on active duty in the Air Force at the time, I really needed to get away from that name and one of my friends started calling the shortbed "Lightweight". The name was in reference to going from the "Heavy Half" to the lighter shortbed truck.

Our 72 GMC is called "Gerald." It got this name from my 15 year old daughter. She also named my 69 Rambler "Todd." Have no idea why....

Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

We seem to becollecting a fleet of these trucks so I have had to name them to keep them straight. Big Blue(70 K20), Greenbean (69 GMC c20), The Duels (Duley with just a cab and frame), No Nose (72 with no fenders) and more.

Girlfriend has began calling my rusting pile "Boogz" because it is booger green and like the nasal substance it never goes away no matter how much she wishes it to happen.
