Re: rear end gear ????

With a gear ration like that, I'd think you'd want to back down A LOT, unless you plan on building a car to cruise at 80mph. The 3:73, and 4:10 gears are always popular, and since your' running an overdrive trans, either would work for your application.

Re: rear end gear ????

Yup, 3.73-4.10 is ideal.
I'd also get a looser converter - something in the 3600 neighborhood.

Re: rear end gear ????

With the MS3 and a 3200 stall, alot of guys run at minimum, a 4.10 gear. To really take full advantage of the cam's potential, a 4.30 or 4.56 gear is recommended.

Re: rear end gear ????

You need to factor in what tire height you have as well.

Re: rear end gear ????

^^^
what he said. I've got 3.73's in my truck and wish it had the 4.10's my TrailBlazer SS has. The 14 bolt w/disc brakes would be nice too!

Re: rear end gear ????

I had the stock 3:08"s with the 6.0l...that thing would fly!!...a little more sensible now with 3:42's..... 3:73's are too low for me to be driving daily..
