ECE drop spindles with stock 1968 steel wheels?

I've done some searching on the board and haven't really found a definite answer. Going to go with ECE dropped spindles and disc brake conversion for the front and currently have the stock 15" x 6.5" steel wheels from 1968 mounted. I believe that these aren't going to work due to clearance issues with the control arm or caliper but don't know for sure. I already have 2" springs in the front and 3" in the back but ultimately am going for 4.5" / 6" drop. If the stock wheels aren't going to work up front I'm going with wheel vintiques 62 series all around. Does any body know if the 15 x 7 front with 4.25 backspacing will clear all my front hardware? Thanks for any input.

the stock 68 wheels will not clear disc brakes due to thier design// if you use 6lug wheels from after 71 they will work

Re: ECE drop spindles with stock 1968 steel wheels?

Thanks for all the info guys! This board has been a great reference for my 68 SWB build. I'll have to post some pics soon. Gumby is an awsome truck! Love that stock but slammed look! That is the look I'm going for.

How hard is it to find these wheels and what can you put these caps on? Or what they should look like I suppose? I wanna go as wide as I can with these wheel covers on it. Interested in selling the blue trucks stockers?
