1967 bed on a 1972 frame

I found a `67 bed at a local junkyard and would like to put it on my `72 C10. It would be fleetside replacing fleetside but I just wondered if I would run into any surprizes frame-wise? Any other tips on bed swap in general appreciated.

Absolutely none. However, you'll be missing the back side markers, (67's didn't have them) so now would be a good time to get rid of the front ones to match

You can weld in the old ones off your bed if you want to keep them. Also, the yard could be wrong, could be 68+ bed with the markers or a 67 truck where someone along the way swapped a newer bed onto.

Re: 1967 bed on a 1972 frame

Well I looked at it but wasn`t prepared to pull it that day. It was marked as a `67 and I don`t recall seeing any markers. All I know is it looked one hell of a lot better than mine. Guess I`ll have to get some reciprocating saw blades and head over there this week.
