Starting the Build!!

I currently am building frame up my first truck I ever bought. I bought her when i was 15. Its a 1966 c10. Right now I have a ford 9 in the rear, not sure what year my front end is. I put in when I was in Highschool, and I thought that I would be able to remember what I pulled it out of. Nope!! So I may need some help identifying it. Its a five lug front end. I have a 350 with a 700r4 in it. Not sure if I want to rebuild it or what. Any ways this is my first time on here and would appreciate any help and advice. Motor is out, stripped to the frame. Body is out to paint and body work, and Ill be sand blasting it this week.

Re: Starting the Build!!

Welcome aboard!! You will find this forum is great, one of the best I have ever found. Started my build in last fall.

My advice is to take pictures of everything all along the way. Take a picture of each thing before you disassemble and after reinstall. Bag and tag everything as well. Zip locks and a marker will save lots of time and headaches later. I took some pictures but not near enough. I also had some others helping on the disassemble and they bagged but did not tag. Not much help looking a bag of bolts months later and wondering what they are for.

You should also check out the FAQs on this forum. An amazing amount of knowledge on many topics.

Good luck and ask your questions here. Everyone is very helpful on this forum.

Re: Starting the Build!!

Hey guys!! I have a body parts that I wont be needing. Craigslist is not so helpful and I saw that we can sell things in the classified section here. Have any of you sold anything here and is it pretty easy to ship truck parts? Thank you for the help. Also any tips for gauges? I dont want to do electric gauges, I want to stick with the original ones. Thanks again guys!!
