Hey can someone point me to a thread or let me know what choices I have on front wheels for my 59 1/2 ton six lug set up that I have put a cpp disc brake set up on. I would like to have a stock type wheel if anyone makes them that will work with the disc brakes.Any suggestions would be great. thanks Mike

Did your CPP kit come with wheel spacers?

If you want stock steel wheels you will need to get ones from around 73 and newer to clear the disc caliper. After market guys make stock looking wheels that work too.

71 or newer 4x4 1/2 ton steel wheels will work.
But we used to run 1/4 or 3/8 disk brake spacers with our drum brake wheels on our rigs with disk brakes in the 70's all the time when we bought a newer car but kept the wheels we had. I think I still have a pair on the front of my 48 with the 14 inch aluminum wheels on the 54 Car drums.

You have to watch the lug bolt length if you use the spacers though as you want at lest one complete thread showing when the lug nuts are on and tight.

yes but the factory wheels still rub

I've had to smooth down more than one corner of a caliper for clearance in the past. That's if they aren't rubbing much.

Stick a flat washer on each lug bolt and put the wheel back on to see if it clears then. That way you can figure out how much extra clearance you need and the scuff mark on the caliper should show you where you need it. Don't drive it with the flat washers though as that could cause problems.

Hi, a buddy of mine had a set off of a 72 4x4 that he told me to come get for free. I just got back with them and they seem to be a great fit.Thanks for the info

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
