whats up guy i was just wondering how i could get some more power out of my little 305 right now its mostly stock its a quadrajet carb with a K&N filter on it. it has headers and custom exhaust other than that its mostly stock anything i can do to get some horsepower out of it for as little cost as possible

Cam and intake, other than that I think it would get expensive.

Give it a little more timing. Use a cooler thermostat but not don't run it too cold. Swap intake for a dual plane intake.

Good call on timing. I was under the impression that a small block gm likes 190-210 degrees as far as temp.

Assuming you'e starting with a solid motor, doesn't foul plugs, use alot of oil, rattle inside, etc. Get yourself one of the $70 SpeedPro 204/214 cams, a Performer (or equivalent) intake, gasket match the ports on the head (while the cam is out and the valves are closed so crap doesn't get down there... blow out when done) and a tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor if needed, add a little timing, and fine tune the carb) You'll be into it $200-$250 or so and a weekend or two but you'll notice a difference.
