Cranking signal wire in 4.8 1967 C10 conversion
I'm putting a 2003 4.8 into my 1967 C10. Motor is installed in the truck. I have a current performance wiring harness. It has a cranking signal wiring in the new harness. My question is where would I hook it up to in the original C10 harness (what color wire please). Thanks for any help in advance

Re: Cranking signal wire in 4.8 1967 C10 conversion
I also used current performance also. My truck is 69 c/10 I used the wire that fed the coil on the positive side. I also traced this wire back to the bulkHead and removed it out of the bulkhead and replaced the wire with a new one since the old was one of those that was designed to drop voltage for points system. It had a cloth type sheathing. My wire color was yellow. I'll bet yours is the same. Hope you understood this.

Oh yeah how about some photos. I also run a 4.8 that motor rocks people just don't give it enough credit I'm speaking from experience.

If your asking about the ignition hot all through the cranking, I used an accessory connection off the fuse block (EZ Wiring harnes block)
I too have the 4.8 and think it doesnt get the credit it deserves.

I think I follow what you're saying. I will try that this afternoon. Thanks for the help. The 4.8 was extremely cheap
