Tire size question

Hey guys I have a question about tires... I see lots of guys still running 15" rims in 8" width or so... what tires (size and brand) are you guys running?
I am running a 275 55 15... and they are too small (height wise) but I am not finding much tires that are summer/performance compound that are taller... can anyone help me out? I would like to stay close to the same width, but I want to be at least 28" tall tire

Re: Tire size question

275-60-15's would put you @ about 28" height (depending on tire mfr). BF Goodrich Radial TA's are still available & decent quality.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Define 'performance'?

If you're looking for a sticky tire for handling purposes, the BFG Radial TA is not it. These are decent quality street driving tires. There's not much available in 28" tall x 15" diameter as far as performance rubber (possibly some Hoosier autocross type of tire). Most performance rated tires are going to be 17" diameter minimum.

Re: Tire size question

well I am not really looking to do size calculations... I am trying to find tires in that size... I am not finding many in that size (i want a summer/performance tire, not all season or off road tire)

Re: Tire size question

I have used the Maxxis MS-2s in a 275 60 15 I was much happier with them than the bfg's ta's

Re: Tire size question

The reason I have you that link is because you can put your size in and it will tell you all the calculations plus popular tires on that size. Also if you can't find anything than maybe you can play with the size and find what your looking for.
