Best 35/12.5/r15 AT
So I am getting ready to take the plunge and buy new tires. It has 20+ year old BF AT's on it now that are unsafe. 72K5 6". I am going to be all street, and maybe a dirt road or two. Lots of rain (Seattle). It isnt easy on google to figure out how they are on the street, everything is biased about rocks, sand, mud, etc.
Thanks Erin |

I think you answered your own question...for what you'll be doing you can't get any better than the BFG ATs...that's if you can find them!

Re: Best 35/12.5/r15 AT
Well, they aged well, look brand new, and I have put 27 miles on them myself! The guy I bought it from put them on there in the early 90"s, and didnt drive it much for the next 20 years. But I do hear good things about them. Exept the back order thing. Which I hear too. Thanks for the reply!

General grabbers! They're an aggressive AT and the price is right!

Re: Best 35/12.5/r15 AT
Are all BFG A/Ts hard to get or just the 16.5s? I think of those tires as the most common and easily obtainable. Since off road performance is a minimal improvement over A/Ss with all A/Ts,I'd go with the practicality of a commonly stocked tire at the best price. And,that has always been the BFGs in my book.

Yeah, probably will go with the BFG. Now, aany recommendations for shocks with 6" lift? The rancho 5000's are leaking, and my fillings are all coming loose. Thanks for the feedback!

We run these on all our service trucks. They are quite, wear like iron and do well in the mud, snow and ice.

I've had Michelins, Goodyears, Pirellis, but I haven't found anything I like better than the BFG AT Radial. Good traction and good wear.

Re: Best 35/12.5/r15 AT
Add another vote for the BFG AT's. I have had them on three different trucks and they have far exceeded their 40k mile rating and tend to resist dryrot more than other tire brands I have had.

Re: Best 35/12.5/r15 AT
The masses have spoken! BBC, we have had a set of those toyo's on my wifes TJ for about a year now, and they are very good in all conditions. I dont think they make them in a 35 or I would be tempted. Going from big heavy MT, to the toyo AT improved the pathetic performance of that 4.0 from "awful", to "below average"!
