within the next 6 months i plan on having my frame blasted I want to keep as many parts on the frame as possible I am wondering if i would be able to take the brake discs off and carry it out there like that or is there more that i should take off

I would take off everything you can, If you plan on painting it or powdercoating you want to make sure everything is clean in all the crevises. If you are getting the frame blasted why not go to the extra minimal effort of doing an extra nice job.

I second that! If you remove everything prior to blasting, you'll have a permanent grin on your face after painting/coating it. You won't regret it! Well worth it.

I painted mine in the garage, I wish I would have had it blasted.

im taking everthing off thats bolted soaked the rear leaf bolts tonight and got most of the front cross member out.how long does it take to blast a frame and what would be a fair price i was told a guy around here will come to me for $300 an hour or should i go somewhere else thanks

That sounds a little high to me, but that may be the going price in your area. I had my chassis, cross members, front and rear differential housings, and transfer case done for $215. I took my parts to a shop and dropped them off, so the home service may cost more?

the guy i am going to take mine to is pretty decent i had a rad. core support and about 10 misc items done a while back for 45 bucks, either that or i have a friend at school who bought one and made half of his garage a blast booth for his truck if he will let me use it i will be set.

I heard that the place to go are places that do big rig stuff.

what do you guys think of a black frame with orange springs and i am thinking of doing the overloads in orange as well along with a few other misc items done in orange as well such as the sway bar mounts and whatnot.

I think that would good, I did my frame in black and going to paint springs,sway bar and trailing arms same color as truck (red),just to be different.

It's all figured out untill you get it apart.
