Great find at the Tree Nursery

So I take the old '66 to the nursery yesterday to pickup some more plants and trees. The owner of the nursery has nice '70 & '71 C/10's so I always enjoy getting to ogle those. As they're loading up my purchases in the back of my truck, the son in law of the owner says that the owner has one similar to my body style, in the back. Of course, I ask to see it. Turns out it's a '63 and one of the nicest that I've ever seen. It's been repainted, new wheels and the 283 was swapped out for a 350, but the old guy claims that it's original otherwise. It even has power steering. He's working on restoring a 1950 right now, so he wants to sell this. Just thought I would share. Sorry for the blurry phone pics.

Re: Great find at the Tree Nursery

great looking truck. the seat looks more like the 64-66 custom seat and not a 63 deluxe seat. although it looks great either way.

Re: Great find at the Tree Nursery

Sorry guys, didn't mean to leave you hanging. The sign in the windshield said $28k, but he quickly mentioned $25k so I know he'd go much lower. He's working on the '50 truck next to it and building a '32 coupe at the same time, so I know he needs the space.

It's way out of my price range, but for someone that wants a super clean truck and doesn't want to do all the work, I think it would be a great find.

Woogeroo, looks original to me. The round bezels are 63 only. I just bought a 63 grill from Tony Smith. I plan on having it chromed.

very nice truck. I have been looking for a cab for my 66. I have to admit my knee hurts everytime I think of those doors from the 62 I used to have.

Last I read the options on grills for our trucks were painted or aluminum originally, at least for '64-'66.

Not sure about the '60-'63.

Re: Great find at the Tree Nursery

It probably was a painted steel grill at one time that was chromed.

Re: Great find at the Tree Nursery

63 was either a painted grill or anodized aluminum, it could also be a polished aluminum as I did, but looks more like chrome to me than polished aluminum.
