72 to 85 and vise versa

Hey fellas, I'm usually on the 73-87 side as I have an 85 chevrolet longbed, but I frequent this board alot and was wondering if or how much of the front suspension is interchangeable between my truck and my sons 72. Mine is in the weeds and I need to bring it back up and I didn't want all my awesome slam parts to go to waste or to have to try and sell them.

Re: 72 to 85 and vise versa

All of it is changeable. but 73 up uses larger ball joints and different thread tie rod ends. so you might have to use all of it to make the conversion easy.

as an example i have 73+ drop spindals on my 68. i just used the 73+ ball joints and then some tie rod adapter sleeves.

there is a really good thread here that is labeled disc brake conversions or something like that and it covers all combos
