Re: Tough time finding 2.5" affordable exhaust kit k10

Ok, so the rear tail pipes arrived and they are 2.25". Everything else is 2.5" as mentioned above. Mufflers are 2.5" in and out. I've been looking through the web to find any GM tail pipes that might fit and I'm not having any luck. So do I want to use the 2.25"? Keep digging for a 2.5"? Find a 3" that fits? (might not be a 3" that fits either). Or take it to a shop and have it fabricated once everything else is in place. Returning the 2.25" tail pipes and taking it to a shop for the tail pipes might be the easist, but I hate to give in and not tackle it myself.

Re: Tough time finding 2.5" affordable exhaust kit k10

so the down tubes were both 2-1/2 or did the midpipe transition from 2-1/4 to 2-1/2.....did you measure?

flowmaster sells a 2-1/2 dual rear exit kit, its like $100 shipped from advanceauto with coupon

How did this exhaust system work out?
Were the walker part numbers correct for 2.5 inch down pipes?
Fit was good?

Re: Tough time finding 2.5" affordable exhaust kit k10

Is there just a single exhaust system that's better than factory? Say larger tubing, with mandrel bends? Perhaps no cat? I kind of like having all that extra room that a single line down the the end offers. Plus if the pipe is actually bigger, wouldn't you get the same amount of flow as you would with duals? Such as an X-pipe or H-pipe or something.

Some of the single systems if designed properly can work as well as a small dual system. I run such a system on my wifes 4th gen, which were plagued with a single system from the factory anyway, but I run a single 4" mandrel bent system with a Magnaflow muffler, all from Mufflex.

Something for these trucks however would likely be a 1 by 1 custom built bases since the aftermarket hasn't really embraced these trucks with nicely built mandrel bent systems.

Re: Tough time finding 2.5" affordable exhaust kit k10

So...I ordered down pipes, Walker 47523 and a 44607 and both are 2.25".
Anybody know the 2.5" Walker part numbers?

Re: Tough time finding 2.5" affordable exhaust kit k10

Is 2.5" what we should be upgrading to? What with the single exhaust and everything. I was told to run 2.5" on my stang until I reach about 400hp and its got dual exhaust. With that in mind, it seems like the tuck would need bigger exhaust since its single not dual. Maybe 2.75" or something.
