Tilt column dilemma

I recently installed a tilt column unit from a later model van in my 68 C-10 and, for the most part, it was a slam dunk. However, the neutral safety switch on the newer column is located about 7 inches further up the column than the switch on the old column and, as a result, is interfering with the brake linkage. I realize I could just remove the NSS and wire around it, which would allow the truck to start in any gear, but that is an accident waiting to happen. Anyone else out there run into this problem and, if so, how did you solve it?

Re: Tilt column dilemma

In the FAQ section there is a How-To thread on moving the N-switch on van tilts. Pictures, measurements, the works.
