box sides don't match
I just came to realise ( after perusing this site) that the box sides on my 77 are not original.they don't match the floor.I also learned that the box floor is different between the 77 and later trucks. Shucks,I had thought I had an original survivor.

I don't think they started putting in the fuel doors until 79.

You are correct. I put an 84 bedside on my 77 and it has the same "gap" that you see above. The bed floor changed in 79 with the fuel door to make room for the filler hose since it moved with the "doors" that were added.
