Re: Need vin help

is there a SPID in the glovebox? If so, do the VIN, metal plate, and title all match?

Does the frame # match any part of your VIN? Frame VIN is usually a partial.

What is your VIN, or what are your VINs, if you don't mind sharing?

6 lug was only available on K10s after 70. You might have a frame swap if your metal VIN, title, and SPID match.

You can probably tell if the SPID/glovebox door is original to the truck.

If it's a parts truck, is it really a problem - or did you buy it sight unseen and were perhaps looking for the 71 disk brake system for parts?

Its right there 0S133574.

That breaks down to a 1970 St.Louis built truck serial number 133574. Now if this number does not match the door plate then the something has been switched. From your description it sounds like a 70 truck had a 71 plate put on it and is titled as a 71. Does it have a SPID and does that VIN match either number.
Problem here is you now have an altered vehicle as evidenced by the rivets. There could be real issues. Do you have a bill of sale and a signed title by the seller or is it an open signed title by a third party?
