5.3 from 2005 GMC Envoy?
I was looking at a wrecked 2005 GMC Envoy 4x4 and was wondering if the engine and transmission was basically they same that's in the full size pickups and suvs. Would this still be a good swap?

The engine itself is the same as any other 5.3
I don't know which trans the envoy came with; is it actually 4x4 or is it all wheel drive?

Re: 5.3 from 2005 GMC Envoy?
It's 4x4.
According to another site, the 2005 Envoy's had the LH6 engine. The LH6 is an aluminum block 5.3 Gen IV engine with DOD. The transmission is a four speed, so I'm guessing 4L60E. |

function wise, it installs the same as any other ls swap; tho I imagine you'll be deleting the dod. Aluminum blocks are nice to keep the weight down, and yes the trans should be a 4l60e.
