Rebel rodz magazine
I went to autozone this past weekend and seen this rebel rodz magazine with a 1950 chevy pickup. I read the article and it said that it has the original frame with torsion suspension from a 1992 pickup. Has anybody heard or has seen this kind of suspension being used? And what other kinds of front suspensions can be used. Like s10, MII, or camaro. Just wondering

Re: Rebel rodz magazine
I can't imagine it would be referring to anything other than an S10.

Re: Rebel rodz magazine
Well if you look through the forum, just about everything has been used.
The most common are s10 and MII IFS setups. But people use everything from mid '80s C20 frames, to conversion van frames. One guy a while back put his truck body on a caprice cop car frame! It all depends on your ability, time, and money. |

Re: Rebel rodz magazine
My 2002 Suburban has a torsion bar front suspension. I don't know what GM products used a setup like that but maybe a version of that is what they were referring to. Early 60's Chevy pickups used torsion bars for a few years too.

Wuss721 it could be done but the guys who have the torsion bar trucks often pull the suspension out an put the coil spring suspension in them. Guys did a lot of things in the past and still do things that don't make a lot of sense in the long run.

Re: Rebel rodz magazine
I thought I remember saying it was like a mazda frame or something. Don't quote me on that though...
