BBC OEM Muffler vs. Aftermarker Muffler?

My 1973 BBC 454 c20 longbed is in need of a muffler and i can't seem to find the right one for the right price! Autozone, O'Riellys and Pepboys are special order and expensive, I don't want to take a chance at the junkyard so where can I find one or what aftermarket mufflers can I use?

Have you looked at jegs.com or summitracing.com depending on if you want a true dual or just single muffler they have thrush and dynomax are 2 that I know of but there's other brands like that, that give you the same sound as some flowmasters, and magnaflows. All you really need to know is your piping size in and out.

Hope it helps you.

I am running single chamber flowmaster knock offs from amazon on my C20. Probably too loud for most but I love em

What do you consider too expensive or just the right price? Everyone has different opinions on what a good price is. I am running a full stainless 3" exhaust and Stainless Works mufflers. I am super impressed with the quality and sound they offer, but the are pretty pricey.

What size inlet, outlet, staggered?
They can hook you up with a cheap turbo muffler. May need some adapters, pipe length...

Just need some imagination.

OEM may be $$$, but in your case, it lasted almost 40 years

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Try one of those. Don't let the brand scare you, that particular model is the quietest they make.
