Charlotte Autofair
Just a little rant.... spent this past weekend at the autofair and had a blast untill the last day. I had been watching a front fender for my '49 and was in the middle of negotiating a deal with a man for the fender when another man walked up and just stood there for a minute. I didnt pay much attention to him but when me and the guy with the fender for sale had got close to the price i wanted to pay for it the other man handed him the money for it and took off with it I had my young son with me and we just stood there looking at each other. After the man vanished into the crowd the man with the fender for sale looked at us and said" was he not with you" we all could not believe it!!! Anyway just be aware of *%^holes like this!!!!!!

Re: Charlotte Autofair
If you your son is old enough use it as an opporttunity to talk to him about integrity and being a man. Sucks to get cut off like that by a volture

Re: Charlotte Autofair
There could've been a reason you didn't get it like that Fender could have been tainted with Dark Spirits or something
I personally would have went off

Re: Charlotte Autofair
Unfortunately there are people like that everywhere. I agree with the other guys, use it as a tool to teach your son about what it really means to be a man.
Too bad you're so far away, I know of a barn locally with a loft full of AD fenders that have been inside for 30+ years. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Charlotte Autofair
Not to defend anyone here, but did the buyer know that you were talking to the seller about that fender? Maybe he didn't know this, and just wanted the part, unknowing what you were doing. I attend a few swapmeets a year, and when I negotiate with a seller, I am either standing over the part or have it in my hand so things like this don't happen.
