Re: Factory 8 Track Player?

I would pay $100.00 for it in working condition. The amount is based off of how bad I would want it for my truck.

Re: Factory 8 Track Player?

I think it would bring $500 plus if it is indeed a truck 8 track player. I personally would not buy it for that amount as I am content with an am/fm, but there are many who would like it as an addition.

Re: Factory 8 Track Player?

Man,that truck is flyin' high with AM/FM/8 track! And,what is that to the right under the dash,a tissue dispenser? I'm also curious about the Dark Green glovebox door and interior trim colors. Looks like a nicely over restored truck, meaning nice but not correct

Very nice set up, looks complete. The support brackets appear to be the correct ones for the truck.

Rarity drives the price up. Just like an actual truck AM/FM radio (and many hard to find OEM accessory items) from this time period. People that have the money to spare will spend quite a bit to get an original piece.

Pretty much applies to anything old or rare for that matter.

They weren't exactly like the accessory book. Notice the am/fm radio doesn't even remotely come close. These are correct though the brackets are wrong. There are 3 brackets total to an eight track mount for our trucks, 2 connect to the bottom of the dash and one connects the back of the player to the heating duct down by the floor.

This has got to be a fake GM 8 track player though. Buyer beware. My 2 factory 8 track players have a smaller "GM" font, these may just be a sticker on a blank pontiac tape door. Factory GM doors are engraved with the letters.
Here is a comparison shot:

Re: Factory 8 Track Player?

Thanks for the responses, I haven't bought it yet, what he is asking for it seems to be it the ballpark, I just wanted to get a price guide of what I should be paying compared to what he is asking. I am going to contact him tonight to get more details, like the model tag on the back.

Thanks 71blksuper4x4 i was hoping you would respond, I've seen you post on these before, I know brackets are incorrect. When I get all the info I will post and see if its a correct.
