My 54 Suburban
Hey I’m new to this site. I found it while searching for some info on my 1954 Suburban. When I bought my Suburban back in 1988, I installed a 283 with a power glide, and used it as a daily driver for several years. In 1993 I decided to redo it and a GM tilt column was installed, the straight axle was dropped 3 inches with new spindles / kingpins, and the power disc brakes and power steering was fabricated. That was about as far as I got. So 20 years later I decided to finish it with the help of my son and grandson. The truck was built at the Kansas City Leeds assembly plant which has long since closed and was originally used as a school bus in a small Missouri town.
