16.5 tire options?

Just curious what my options are when it comes to 16.5 tires? Looking for a 33x12.50. So far the tire guys around here are telling me all they can get are BFGoodrich all terrains for $1150. Any other places to get some decent tires from?

That size is getting hard to find, luckily BFG still makes them. Start by looking at http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp - currently $760 for a set of four, plus shipping. Add mount & balance and you should still be well under your $1150 quoted price. Ask them to price match....

Re: 16.5 tire options?

You can get Firestone 8.75 or 9-16.5 tires from Tire Rack. They are a street tread - not sure if you were wanting an AT. I too have been searching, not sure I can run 33x12.50's on 9.75 wheels on my C20 without a front spring change. Which would be fine, only I don't really wanna spend $200 apiece for BFG's. If you have any luck pass along the info. As much as I love the slot mags, I may have to give up the ghost as far as they go and find a 16" wheel.

Firestone Transforce is what I prefer. Not my truck, but these are those tires:

Re: 16.5 tire options?

I went with BFG AT 33x12.5 on my 16.5 x 8.25 steelies....was the only model I could find easily here in town. I'd rather have a 10" or so wide tire. Next time I'll go with 16" wheels even if these tires are still manufactured but I really like the depth of the 8.25" wheel. The tire option are very limited anymore.

Re: 16.5 tire options?

Thanks guys. Got lucky and found some 33x12.50 16.5's here locally. They are Cooper Discoverer tires? They have about 80% tread left and I only spent $400.
