McGauphys Big Brakes Front and Rear!

I got several boxes piling up to start my project (1968 Short/Fleet); several of them containing the 13" McGauphys Big Brake Kit for both ends.

I'm all set on getting the axle flange and hub turned down in the rear.

I didn't get a bit of instructions with the kit as others have noted. I just am hoping someone can confirm the following for me:

1. I assume the cross-drilled rotors are directional (different part numbers on the boxes). Which way should they be oriented front and rear?

2. Same question as above for the calipers?

Any advice is appreciated. I figured I would ask the pros here before making phone calls when I dig further into it (haven't had the chance to even unwrap everything.

I know everyone likes pictures. As soon as the frame returns from blasting / painting, I'll officially start documenting the build.

Don't have an answer but wondering where you got the fender trim?

Orient the rotors so the part of the slot closest to the hub leads when spun the direction they will be spinning when going forward.

The calipers are situated so the bleeders are at the top.

Looking forward to the build.

Calipers should have air bleed valves pointing up....

Re: McGauphys Big Brakes Front and Rear!

Thanks for the directions. That is what I thought; however, it seemed like a lot of pics were the other way.

This should be a decent start!!! I have another truck and a half that I started with (parts trucks for now).

The fender trim has been on it since I remember. I have about an 18 year history with this truck. Bought it off a high school buddy of mine.

Other frame is at the blaster. Cannot wait to get it back and bolt a bunch of nice new parts on!!!
