Six lug rear end options on TF?

I've got the stock rear end in there at the moment. Putting a 4.8 liter LS motor + 4L60E in, planning to drive it a lot and want to keep six lug pattern.
Are the stock rear ends any good? I'm skeptical that it will hold up, dunno why.
Will a C10 12 bolt work, or will the wheels stick outside the fender line?

67,68 and 69 c10 and K10 1/2 tons both had 6 lug and WMS (wheel mount surface) is 62 1/2 with the same 1310 u joint that yours has.

You could put a V8 Toyota truck rear under it- same bolt pattern and (I think) same width.

Not all of them. here in the sierra foothills lockers and limited slips are about 50% the ones I have seen. Mostly limited slips

You can change bolt patterns on most axles if they have the room.

Re: Six lug rear end options on TF?

I think the Astro uses a different pattern, like 6 on 5 or something silly.
I'll keep an eye out for those C / K10 axles. The Toyota might get used, but while I'm on a roll with keeping it Chevy I think I'll try and continue the trend.

Re: Six lug rear end options on TF?

I used a 10 bolt out of a 68 C10 in my 57. Direct bolt in outside of shock mounts. Nevermind the panhard bar, that didn't work out.

How did the width on that 68 compare to the original axle?
