small trouble,little advice wanted.TH350
Two bolts thru the crossmember brace the rear of the tranny, the edge of the cross member keeps me from taking the rest of the bolts out to drop the pan to service the thing.Whats the proper order to line the crossmember/trans mount bolts once I finish getting everything out of the way/servicing the trans?

there should not be anything in the way.the tranny pan bolts are at least 2 inches away from the mount it self. Now If you had a 3 on the tree and left the cross member then you have a problem. If you have to.You can undo the 5/8's bolts that bolt the mount the the trans get a jack and gently jack up the tail shaft remove the mount then the bolts are right there

I use a 1/4" drive setup with a 1/2" swivel socket for the two bolts in question. I have not run into the issue of a wrong cross member, though.

The cross member looks to be right where it's suppost to be,how else would you mount the transmission?
theres two bolts....that I can't get to holding up the back of the transmission pan,the only way to get to them is to drop the duel exhaust and move the crossmember out of the way,it's a TH350 short tail shaft, you telling me the cross member isn't correct?

Re: small trouble,little advice wanted.TH350
I know my crossmember was a custom made one from the po and I always have to move it out of the way to service my tranny... Very quite annoying to do
