New cab floor welded in to high

I was wondering if someone can get me a measurement on the rear of the cab floor. When mine was welded in I think they welded it in to high. My cab is leaning to the back when mounted to the frame. Can someone tell me where it is welded. I know this is very vague. I need to know where the rear cab mount rail is welded to the back of the cab. If someone can do me a great huge favor and measure off the cab and report back the numbers and where they measured from it would be a great. Thanks Daniel. My cab has been completely finished and it is leaning to the back. I am going to pissed if the numbers don't match. Thanks again.

Wondering if you could give a little more info on your truck... C-10, C-20, cab original to frame? Have you set the bed on it yet to see how they match up? Maybe some pictures of the rear cab mounts.

Maybe the easiest measurement would be from the floor to the bottom pinch weld of the rear window.

Thanks.

Yes I measured from the bottom of the seam where the gas tank bolts are at to the floor and got 18 3/8. If someone can verify this it would be great. It is the lowest seam in the cab to the floor. Someone with the tank out would have to measure it for me. Thanks again

I just went out and measured my '72. It has a tank in it and it measured 28 1/2 inches from the center of the cab floor to the lower pinch weld in the rear window opening. I have a cab with no tank in it but it is a ways out and it is raining and snowing right now so that ain't gonna' happen...

Sounds good. If it quits raining cats and dogs here I will go out and measure my tankless cab in the morning. We are up to 6" of rain and counting... Bummer.

What truck are we talking about? Different trucks had different rear cab mounts.

That's why I asked the questions I did in post #2 but he didn't answer them.

Re: New cab floor welded in to high

I measured on 7 different cab floors in the same location center of cab floor at rear and they were from 18 3/16" to the pinch weld up to a maximum of 18 3/8", these were cab floors that are all original and done were damaged. So the measurements vary a total of 3/16" and since GM allowed a tolerance for these trucks of plus or minus 1/8" this would mean that the original floors were supposed to spec'd at 18 1/4 or 18 5/16" I would say.

Re: New cab floor welded in to high

Sorry guys had to work today. I did measure it in the same place in the light and it measures at 18 1/8. I guess a small tiny shim may be needed to level it out. Thanks for all the measurements and quick responses. I have a cab dolly that uses the factory mounts in the factory locations and it is leaning to the rear on the dolly. I want make sure it is right before I mount it on the frame and paint it. Thanks again for the responses, it seemed it was an 1" out or more. Must be an illusion or fooling to the eye on my cab dolly. I am going to mount it tomorrow and post some pics.
