Fan shroud figment issue

So I replaced my radiator yesterday and while I was removing the shroud I noticed the original owner had a nut between the shroud and the radiator clamp acting as a spacer. I set it aside assuming I wouldn't need it but I guess I was wrong. If you look at the pics it appears that everything fits on the drivers side, but the shroud hits the radiator before it fits flush against the mount on the passenger side. Am I doing something wrong? Do I somehow have the wrong shroud? I could make it fit but I don't want to hack on it if the only problem is me. Have a look at the pics. This is on a 70 c10 with a 307/3ott, no air and I replaced the copper/brass 3 core with a new copper/brass 3 core.

Measue the length of your radiator hold down's, looks like maybe 1 side is for a 2 core and the other a 4 core? Just a thouight.

The hold downs are different lengths I believe but the end tanks are different thicknesses so I figured it had to be that way. I'll get some photos

Re: Fan shroud figment issue

I guess what I meant was the rubber bushings were different sizes. Here is a photo of the passenger side, driver side, and the old radiator I removed.

Re: Fan shroud figment issue

I have 4 core mounts, I just measured mine, and both sides are the same size 6 3/8".

Re: Fan shroud figment issue

When I look at places like LMC truck it looks like the 2 top mounts should be the same and the 2 bottom mounts should be the same all with the same rubber inserts. From looking at mine, and clearly by looking at the radiator above, the passenger side tank is much thicker than the drivers side. Does the radiator above look like one from a c10 or is a possible replacement from some donor vehicle?

Re: Fan shroud figment issue

So I went out and took a second look at the mounts and found the problem withe the mount. It would appear that both the radiator that was in the truck and the one I just purchased do physically fit but are not native to a c10. I took measurements of the tank depth and the drivers side is 2.5" and the passenger side is 3.5". You can see in the picture of the mounts that the one which I saw as longer was originally the same length but someone sliced it in several spots to make it work. Does someone have measurements on the 4 core mount? Maybe I can use one of those on the thicker tank.
