shipping bucket seats
I know this has been covered but I cant seem to use the search function when I'm on my phone. Can somebody give me an idea of what it would cost to ship two front buckets (not utility) no tracks. Anynody have a rough idea of the weight and size the box would be? thanks for any help. There is a grehound about 40 mins away but they dont answer their phone and its unk if they ship. I may have to use fedex

Re: shipping bucket seats
From where to where? In the midwest you could ship a pair of buckets for about $50 if you are shipping within Speedee Delivery's service area(MN,IA,IL,WI,ND,SD,NE,St Lo MO). UPS and FedEx will be x3 to x4 more.

Re: shipping bucket seats
I bet a lot more. Heavier and a bigger item, you can stack buckets to take up less space.

Re: shipping bucket seats
I've shipped from Maryland to South Carolina and to Texas. Seats were complete,I didn't buy any box, just wrapped with shrink wrap once/did same but used a layer of cardboard om the other, used Greyhound, and paid $75-ish. I put them in the 69 position with the brackets wrapped to the seat bottoms

Re: shipping bucket seats
FedEx will be cheaper than UPS. I would guess shipping to be around $200 to stack the seats as Special-K described, and set them in a large wardrobe box, which can be purchased at U-Haul. I have shipped several sets of buckets this way in the past. A combined set of bucket seats with both sets of tracks weighs right at 100 lbs. If you have a scale at home, you can figure out the exact weight without the tracks. IIRC the wardrobe box I used was 30" cubed.

I believe Greyhound's limit is 100# and the buckets fall well under that. IIRC they weigh about 75#. I'm glad I have them as an option. It's been well worth the 20-30 mile drive for both shipping and receiving for over 30 years for me.

Re: shipping bucket seats
Would it be cheaper to ship them by them selves? Just a thought.

Re: shipping bucket seats
I had a guy from this site send me some buddy buckets with the frame through Greyhound . I think it cost 175 ( came in two packages because of size, and weight) he packed them in a wardrobe box.
