Must do suggestions in turning your 72 blazer into an everyday vehicle?

Must do suggestions in turning your 72 blazer into an everyday vehicle?

I have had mine in the barn(except for a few films) for the last 10 yrs or so, I have decided to fix it up for every day driving.

Things that make it more comfortable as well as reliable.

I have put new tranny(has about 300 miles on it) new tires, brakes(in the last few months, Engine, even though 10 years old(has about 400 miles on it) I am thinking after market seats?(it has custom bench seat now, but I have another 72 with original seats as an option, carpet kit? make things quieter? New rubber for the top?

Thanks in advance.

I would drive it and swap things out that bother you.

That being said, dynamat (or some other sound damper) and a comfy seat is never a bad idea. New door and window rubber will go a long way towards making it more "modern" as far as drive comfort.

Before deciding on upgrades, its a good idea to put together your road side kit (spare fuel pump, fuses, fusable links, hand tools, good flashlights, dizzy cap, a few plug wires, etc, etc).

I tend to approach projects in this order:

1. Safety (brakes, steering, etc.)

2. Reliability (tuning, carburetion, etc.)

3. Comfort (seats, weatherstrip, etc.)

4. Appearance (paint, bodywork, etc.)

My Blazer is partially torn down right now so I can clean and paint the firewall and inner fenders before I put in the new engine. But safety items definitely need to be first, and never, ever put off for later.

Everyday vehicle, um paint it beige and throw sme toyota badges on it...
Comfortable DD, factory seats aren't the best, everything else if in good condition should be just fine. 71 and up are pretty modern vehicles as far as driveability goes, they can easily hit highway speeds and stop pretty quickly.
