how reasonable to add power steering/brakes?
Found a clean, one-owner C20 that I think I'm going to buy. Upon the rare occasion my wife would drive the truck, she would really like power steering and brakes, which this truck does not have.
How big of a job is it to add either or both? |

I did it on my '68 1/2 ton. Found used gear box and pump and ordered the conversion kit from here. That's the most expensive part. Did all the work myself which was not bad at all.

Double check what water pump you have and what ps bracket you have[

I have the short water pump with stock short water pump brackets with a single pump pulley part number 3925537DC. The crank pulley is the one Allen grove says to use, gm part number 3751232.

I have the long water pump with a double pulley on power syeering pump. I have a 68 GMC with a pump and steering gear off from a 72.

Hi Gipper. I have both a one grove pulley and a 2 grove pulley. The one grove sits out past the crank pulley by one grove. The two grove pulley would work but it rubs on the pump bracket. The 2 grove one is part #39430150. The inside grove would work if it did not rub the pump bracket.
