Air Cleaner Dress Up

Anyone know of a place where one can get a chrome, factory-style air cleaner hat? My stock one got smooshed, and I'd like to replace it with something a little more blingy.

Also, anyone know of anyplace a fella could get a "GMC" air cleaner nut? Similar to the "bowtie" style nuts, but with the "GMC" logo instead. Not "GM", but "GMC" specifically.

The deep ones? I see the flatter style, but not the hat for a 4" filter.

...unless I'm retarded, which is probably the case.

Nobody knows of a "GMC" a/c nut?

Guess I have to settle for a "GM" unit.

One last bump, then I'll let it die.

Anyone know where I can get a chrome "tall" air cleaner lid? I see the "shallow" ones, but not the "tall" versions.

Like this...

Re: Air Cleaner Dress Up

*shrug*

The one off my '77 454 was tall like that. So was the one on the '91 Suburban parts rig w/ a 454. Come to think of it, the one on my Old Man's '86 454 is the same way. My '88 Suburban w/a 350 is the "short" style. Maybe it's a big block thing.

Rock Auto lists filter heights for an '84 305 from 3.5" and 5.5".

Who knows.

Re: Air Cleaner Dress Up

I've never seen one aynwhere and a quick search comes up with the shallow standard lid. Looks like the only options are to chrome it or powdercoat it if you want color.

Re: Air Cleaner Dress Up

I never seen one like that, why not get chrome shallow lid and run a 3.5" filter

Yeah, that's what I'm going to end up doing. Kinda like the tall version, but whatever.
