exhaust

i was wondering waht type of exhaust you guys would put on a 350 stepside. i know that im goin to replace the factory exhaust with duals, but i dont know what type of muffler if any. i would like to have the muscle sound, and wasnt sure on how to achieve it.
thanks

I'm a hardcore Flowmaster man. A set of headers and Delta Flow mufflers will give a virtuillay stock 350 a very mean sound...will sound alot badder than it really is. I prefer the Delta Flow flowmasters over the regular flows...the regular models sound kinda hollow and tinny, i have Delta Flow 40's on my truck and they sound really deep and throaty...i turn heads all the time with it. Also, they usually sound better if you don't run any tailpipes or turndowns or anythign....just have the mufflers end somewhere. It will be loud though.....i would reccomend the 50 series mufflers if you want it a bit quieter

BTW, where are you at in Missouri?

I like a generic turbo as good as anything. They will give your a low quiet rumble at idle, and still get noisy when you WANT them too, not all the time like flowmaster 40's

I stuck a set of 50-series Flowmasters under my truck over the summer. I really like them. I throaty/mellow rumble idle. Mine resonate at about 1500rpm (kinda sucks because it is really loud in the truck, I imagine it to be different from truck to truck because of exhaust design - lengths and bends ect). Turning 2800 or so down the highway, they aren't loud at all, and if I hammer it there, it still isn't loud. So I don't have to 'listen' to my truck make a hella racket when traveling.
