Brake line routing advice needed!

Could someone please post a pic to show the proper/best way to run the rigid brake line coming from the master cylinder mounted proportioning valve and running to the "T" for the front brake lines? I have a '68 chevy with disk brakes and a brake booster/master cylinder/ proportioning valve combo. The current line is not "installed" but is "routed" between the frame and the headers and it is a very tight fit. Barely any room and extremely close to the headers! I am worried about chafing and overheating. Anyway the line runs down and connects to a "T" which splits off to send a line to both front calipers. Any advice/pics would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure what you're looking for but here's a pic someone posted for the prop valve line routing. There are two separate lines for front and rear brakes. Also, there are and have been many different variations of this since previous owners have added and changed master cylinders and features.

You could also do a google search and click on images: 67-72 chevy truck proportional valve lines. Lots of different pics there.

Thanks 68GMSEE, but I was looking for a pic that shows how the line passes down around the frame and engine area. My line runs between the frame and my headers on the driver side and it is a really tight fit in that area. Seems like there would be a better way to run it.

Thanks Twisted78SS! That helps alot. In the 9th pic you posted, it shows the lines running on the outside of the frame whereas mine run on the inside next to the header. This is the area I was trying to see.

From what I understand, some ran inside the frame, and some ran outside the frame. Not sure what made the difference for the factory to run them in or out. Maybe front drum or disc brakes?

I have a 1972 GMC with front discs and the line runs outside the frame.

My truck had drum brakes originally, now aftermarket disks. Also, these are stainless steel aftermarket lines but this particular line is bent so wrong there is no way it could ever line up the way it is currently routed but I don't think it would line up if it were routed to the outside of the frame either. This line I speak of comes off the right side of the valve, (sitting in the cab looking forward)

keep in mind, this is for a 71 C20 with disks - but here is the line routing. Pretty certain the line routing is the same for a C10, however, the master cylinder in a disk brake C20 has the REAR drum brake reservoir as the FORWARD reservoir and the FRONT disk brake reservoir as the REARWARD reservoir. But after the prop valve, all should be the same. 1st pic is reference for a C20-specific disk/drum factory setup - shows how prop valve is arranged and the fact that the front reservoir goes to the rear port of the prop valve (again - this is C20 only) - BUT, the routing after the prop valve should be the same for C10 or C20.
