Lowering and rerouting exhaust?

I just noticed that my headers drop way below my frame. I was hoping to lower this thing 4/6 static and now I am not sure that I don't have to rearrange some of this... What do you think? can I just not lower it as much? and if so... how much?

you'll be hitting all kinds of things with that exhaust if you leave it....

Re: Lowering and rerouting exhaust?

You get shorties or the ramhorns and buy a crossmember that has holes in it, OR cut them out yourself and weld in 4in dia. Pipe for support, once im done with my cab restore..ill be making mine

can you snap a pic of your truck a bit closer, I think I may be replacing some headers but I would love to avoid it if at all possible.

Re: Lowering and rerouting exhaust?

I put flow master shorties on mine. Gained me about 5" ground clearance compared to the long tubes I had on there before

Re: Lowering and rerouting exhaust?

Have any of you used Summit Racing's shorty headers? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g9014

I'm not sure if I will lose power or night. At the moment I am running 1 5/8" primaries, 3" collector and my exhaust is full 3" with "H" pipe into Flowmaster 1 chambers.
