Hey yall. I am getting some rims for Christmaa rgiht. Just some ole Discount Tire Co. Cheapies...everyones knows wat those are lol. There Chrome and I really like those. Anyways. This is my first body style truck from the 73-87 styles. Right nw my truck is lower with a 3/5 And looks good. I wana keep the front 15x8's....But the back. How would it look to have a 16x8 or 10? or a 15x10? I want yall opinions on this cuz....I dont rly wqant it to look crappy. Wat yall think? 15front..16's back?

Are you getting plain chrome modulars? If so, a 15x7 up front w/a 215/75 will fill up the wheelwell nicely. For a little more meat out back, either a 255/70/15 on a 15x8 or..... even better a 285/70/15 on a 15x10 would work real well. To add some individuality to the wheels, add some late model truck center caps (either black or chrome) & you'll have low budget/high appeal.

Scoti hit the nail on the head. Going with a 16" rim won't gain you much in looks one way or another. It may make it harder to get the tire size you want though.

If you have any extra cash look at stepping up to 17's all around. There are a couple of really decent priced tires out there like the Dunlop "Sport Rover" or the Goodyear Eagle GT II, and 17's would really give a more modern look to your truck.

Don't forget about good ol' ralleys either. Some smaller van wheels up front & 8's or some wheel vintiques 10's out back.

Things to consider:

Back spacing of the wheels (very important, for looks and clearance).
If you get a bigger back wheel make sure you can get tires that match for both sizes. You dont want different types or brands of tires front and back (most the time doesnt look right).
If you get different size wheels front and back you will need to take the truck in to rotate the tires.

I have 15x8's up front and 15x10's out back. In order to get matching tires I went with 295/50/r15's all around.
Out back they look perfect, but up front they can sometimes look low on air even when they are not. Its not a big deal at all, you can kind of see what I am talking about in the attached picture (compare the side walls on the front and back tires).
I have a stock 350 with 4-speed manual trans, I can spin the tires no problem and it catches pretty fast (traction is good with 10" & 295's).

In my 20+ yrs of driving I've never rotated tires. Get a good alignment & no worries. Run different size tires if you use different size wheels.
