I have the gen IV sure fit vintage air unit, and moved it from the instructed mounting location to as high as it goes without modifying the cowl and it still hangs below about 4", even at this height you loose your entire glovebox. If you want it flush you would have to cut out your entire cowl, and run customs lines to the unit.
