Arrow O.T. Looking for a Chevelle project

I'm getting my original 1970 LS5 back from the guy I sold it to 24 years ago !! So.... I'm looking for a 70 SS Chevelle project..rolling chassis would be good, or complete. Strongly prefer factory 4 speed body, but will entertain all. Have looked at 71-72's also to convert. If anyone has one sitting around, send me a PM. ..

There is one for sale here in grand rapids, 71 or72. no engine (he is keeping the 427) Body and paint is nice, i think interior was nice also. Has been raced, but no cage or tubs that i remember. Has SS badges but may be a clone. Not sure on price, but i'm sure it wont be cheap. Can find out more if you want me to. Eric

hehe. 67 and 70 were the coolest years of chevelle imo. i wish i could afford a chevelle. way much more money than a truck for a clean one with some options. 71 and 72 were kinda ugly imo tho

I know where there is a '72 and a '71 sitting around. Not too far from Stillwater either.

However they are not for sale.

Thanks, but I'm looking for an SS...2 door coupe
Hooter, I had a 72 Monte at the same time as the 70 SS... exwife got the Monte, someone else got the Chevelle. I still like Monte's, but lookin for a Chevelle for now...maybe the next toy will be a Monte
dinnut...71-72's are ugly compared to a 70, that's why it would be converted....to a 70.
Matt....it's not nice to tease...

Ouch!
The one on the left is a 72. The one on the right is a 71.

I owned a 71 Monte for a couple of years. It was my winter beater. Too bad I bought it already all rusted out. That was the best car I've ever owned. It got 20 mpg on the highway. Once I got 23. It had a 2bbl 350 and an AC that you could make ice cubes with.
That engine is in my shed on a stand for "future considerations". It may end up in my truck some day. The AC compressor is bound for my truck when I complete my engine bracket set. Other odds and ends are in my truck. Most of the rest is in boxes as most things fit the Chevelles.

There is an ad in the local car trader mag with a 72 SS Chevelle for sale. Per the ad it was a factory big block 4 speed car. Needs trunk floor, lower fenders and passenger quarter repair. Has the factory build sheet, $2200 or best offer. No Engine!

Car is located in Knox, Indiana and the telephone number is 574 772 0580

I have not seen the car and the information that is above is all that I know about it as stated by the ad. The picture is too small to tell anything about it.

Just an option for you.

Jim

Now Matt, don't get upset...I meant the 71-2 weren't as good looking as a 70 IMO. They are still good looking cars. My 72 Monte had the 350 2bbl, and it was a pig!! 12 mpg, and wouldn't break the tire loose on gravel! I put an edelbrock intake, and a 600 cfm Holley on it, with full dual exhaust. 17mpg, with tire smokin, 2nd gear scratching power! What a difference. I'm still mad the ex got it!
Miket...I have been lurking on there for a couple months. Have e-mailed two ads, and never get a reply??
Thanks Jim, I will look into that one. Needs a bit more metal work than I prefer, but has the right options, and PRICE!
Anyone else??...still looking.

Class of 69,

I left out the fact that the car has been listed for at least two weeks and it is "best offer".
