Re: Psi harness where to mount computer

I used the factory mount, cut it to fit to a frame made from 2x3 angle, and mounted it on the drivers side of the core support beside the radiator. It doesn't get hot and is out of the way and looks nice.

I have the PSI harness. It is a nice harness but just make sure you know that it does not come labeled. It tells you this somewhere but I missed it. It comes with a black and white picture of the harness laying stretched out and numbers pointing to the wires and then under that is has the numbers and what they refer to. If I had it to do over again, I would make sure I got one that came labeled on the wires...it makes it so much easier.

Don't get me wrong...the harness is good quality and my truck fired up on the first try...but some of the wiring was a little confusing. The guy helping me with it has done several swaps and he was having trouble figuring out a few wires. I will also say that Don at PSI was always willing to help when we called with questions.

Re: Psi harness where to mount computer

Mine came with very detail instructions that called out the wires by color and location. It was a first time for me and went very well. I dealt with Jon and the customer support was outstanding, he even answered emails at 9pm on Sunday night!

Re: Psi harness where to mount computer

Update to my mounting... I built a sheet metal glove box and mounted the ECM to the back. I cut a hole for the relay/fuse center on one side and mounted the Classic Instruments signal converter to the other. I like it better than my first plan and now I have room for a vintage air unit!

Re: Psi harness where to mount computer

Nice glovebox. I'm having the same dilemma. My vintage air takes up a ton of space. Even with the glovebox out there isn't a great place to mount it. I'm still working on a good place as we speak.

Re: Psi harness where to mount computer

I've got the vintage air in mine too. Gauges out and glovebox out just trying to find somewhere to put it. Thought it might fit on top of the radio under where the speaker should normally go, but the ac vent work is in the way! This is very frustrating!

Re: Psi harness where to mount computer

Sure fit magnum IV. Just not enough room. It would be awesome to put the comp under the seat but most harnesses are not long enough. I just took the easy way out and put it on the firewall like pics above.
