Hello All,
I am almost completed with rebuilding the frontend of my sons truck. with 73-87 frontend, a-arms to pitman arm. I installed disk brakes with 2-1/2" drop spindles and 1" drop springs since is is now basiclly 73-87 front components do I align to that year(1978 parts)? if so what is the best in numbers for this? my research on the forum shows
+2.0 deg +/-.25 caster
-.25 camber +/- .25
-.11 to +.03 Total Toe
with 0 thrust offset

Is this correct? can anyone help me out that has done this upgrade or change to their truck?

Yes, since you have installed 73-up parts I'd say to tell the alignment shop to adjust it to the 78 specs. I bet the 78 specs are pretty close to your original 70 specs. Maybe the alignment specs are adjusted for radial tire technology but I'd bet that's it.

My 70 is original but those specks are about what I set it at & it drives fantastic.
2 degree pos. caster. 1/8 neg camber. 1/8 in toe in.

Your specs are ok. Camber should be negative and not exceed -1.0°. With your springs it will likely wind up around -.25°. Specs call for somewhere between +2 and +3 degrees. The more positive caster the better. Like Wrenchbender, 1/8" TOTAL (1/16th per side) toe-in is recommended.
