What to use to make the jimmy shine again

I need some advice on what to use to make my Jimmy shine again. the hood is the worse dull paint on the truck but still has a shine to it. I just want to use a polish or a wax Im not familiar with a buffer of any kind so I was wondering if I could get a product that I could apply with a rag. any suggestions.

Thanks

Rubbing compound. It's like a coarse wax. Takes off the old oxidation. You'll need to wax it after though.

Get a bottle of Meguire's cleaner wax, it will take a while but will look great.

uh your going to need more then just wax. This is going to be a multistep correction procedure. Google paint correction to find many examples. Good luck

Not go diggin in the mud lol. Just kiddin. I would say rubbing compound and a couple of coats of wax then maybe you'll have to cut and buff.

Re: What to use to make the jimmy shine again

If you can still get it in your area try B'laster polish , it's made by the same people that make blaster the penatrating oil, works great on faded paint, if you can't find it locally
search the internet, they quit making it just rencently, i ordered a dozen bottles from amazon other places have it

I would add to the suggestions.Get a polisher buffer. One of the low speed one, usually runs about $30-40 and will save you tons of time and elbow grease.

Re: What to use to make the jimmy shine again

Alright thanks for all the suggestions and help I ended up going with Meguire's cleaner wax that LeeH and MisterB suggested I got it after work 2 nights ago went and washed the truck then applied. All I half to say is WOW that stuff is amazing to bring my paint back to a shine I thought I was never going to get it to shine. Let me say its not show quallity and thats not what I was expecting but it blew my expectations out of the water this stuff works I will let you be the judge.

LOL Thanks I'll half to get one later tonight when I get off work. Still half to do the other side and the hood. But it will be well worth the pain and carpal tunnel in my arm and hand to see it shine.
