Green Monster sold...
I put my 1972 Blazer up for sale in Carlisle this weekend. I purchased it ten years ago and verbally agreed to sell it for $4K more than I paid for it in 2003. Now I'm second guessing whether or not I should sell it. I don't need to sell it but I don't drive it much anymore. I think I could sell it for more. It's unrestored and its not perfect but it looks good for it's age. It still has the original paint on it but the driver side fender has been repaired before I bought it, painted and blended into the driver side door. The passenger side fender has a couple dents on it from the previous owner. It's rust free and has not been exposed to the salt treated roads. I bought it from California in 2003. The interior has been refreshed with new carpet, stripped and painted roll bar, powder coated the seat brackets in 2009. It has A/C which I had rechared with R12 in 2004, but the refrigerent leaked out by 2006 and no longer blows cold. It has 160K mi. on it. factory A/C, Turbo Hydramatic 350 transmission, factory tachometer, CST package, 4WD. I included two pictures taken today. What are your thoughts? Is $17K enough?

Re: Green Monster sold...
If you verbally agreed to sell it then yes, you should sell it. I don't know about PA laws, but in South Dakota a verbal contract is just as binding as a written contract. Maybe you have an agreement with the purchaser that you can think about, obviously I don't know the details. If you decide not to sell it feel the buyer out, make sure you don't end up in court over it.
As a 67-72 truck guy I think you are crazy to sell it, if it still floats your boat. But, if you don't drive it, you might as well have a $17,000 sack of cash sitting in your garage doing nothing for you. All of that being said, if you decide to sell it, and the first guy isn't interested, you should get a membership here and list if here.

Re: Green Monster sold...
Whaaaat?! Green Monster is actually selling his own truck? Or have the scammers hacked his account and sunk to a new low on scams?
All kidding aside. Don't do it. |

AJ - I was thinking the same thing...
That thing has been on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. for years for scammers to make money from unsuspecting victims. Nice to see that it is up for sale for real for once from the actual owner. |

Thanks 71SWB4x4. I disclosed all the known issues of the Blazer with the seller today. Overall, it's a nice Blazer but I don't want the buyer to have any surprises when he gets it home.

This is why I sold mine. Everytime I would look out in the garage and see the Blazer just sitting there I would think about the cash. I sometimes regret selling it but I've been able to multiply that sack of cash several times over and know it was the best choice. |

Re: Green Monster sold...
Sorry, it would sit in my shop until either it rots away or I pass. Then I wouldn't care. But if mine was half that nice, there's no way I'd let it go. Not for 17 or 170! Good luck what ever way you decide to go, that is one sweet Blazer.

Re: Green Monster sold...
Regardless of your state laws regarding verbal contracts, but are you a man of your word? If you verbally agreed to sale it, are you going to man up & stick to your words or back out?
