Truck Died while driving
Was driving home today and the truck died when taking off. It turns over but doesnt start. I recently replace the ICM.
I'm leaning toward the electronic spark control module after some research. I put some gas in the carb and still didnt start. No spark. |

Re: Truck Died while driving
I think we may need a little more information about the truck and the engine to be able to help.

Re: Truck Died while driving
When my truck died it turned out to be a module in the distributor but I forget the acronym (87 gmc v2500 w/350).

Re: Truck Died while driving
I say get rid of all that wiring and put a regular dizzy in it. Only thing that will be a pain is if you have the cali smog and a 700r4.

Re: Truck Died while driving
He means, install an HEI without ESC connections. You can bypass the ESC if you don't want to remove wiring.

You can remove all that wiring without having to cut or modify your current wiring harness. The ESC crap is all stand alone wiring unless Like I said you have the Cali. smog crap and the 700r4 then its tied into that ESC box. Forgive my spelling and probably run on sentences I'm not the best at it but I try my best to help people even if I seem to ramble on and not make a whole lot of sense at times. |

Re: Truck Died while driving
I got it started... ICM
now it seems to be leaking around the carburetor linkage and also smells like something burning around carb. Like the carb is sucking for gas.. stump again |
