An interesting haul for the Longhorn!

After trucking, beekeeping is my sencond hobby. Yesterday, one of my hives swarmed on a small oak tree in my backyard. I loaded a hive box on the back of the Longhorn and was able to back right under the swarm. I then shook the bees off into the box and closed it up. Of all the stuff I've hauled in that truck, this is a first!

flashed,
I had my beekeeping suit on. They say that swarms aren't very aggressive because there is no hive or brood to protect. But these guys were definitly not happy with me!

Man that is one nice looking Longhorn and it's still being used as a truck, really nice example.

Lucky for you it was a small tree.. I was a beekeeper for three years before I found out I was allergic to bee venom and had to give it up. I kept one of the hives I built "just in case"..

Re: An interesting haul for the Longhorn!

I'm allergic to honey bees too. I'm supposed to carry one of those eppy pens with me, but I don't. I also know that without bees, there's no food so I wish them no harm. Good on you for keeping hives.and trucks!

SouthCity, pictures does do that Longhorn justice. I've seen it. Nice.

Josh why did you put the suit on?

rambler he did have a swarm in one of his trucks last year. I'll let him tell that story.
