If you do have near 500 hp---youre going to need a muncie m22. Its nick named "the rock crusher" It was the heaviest duty 4 speed of the day.
But, it also depends on final gear ratio and how youre going to be driving the truck.

If you are going to run a 3.73 or lower----and if youre not going to run 16" wide tires and on and on-----anyway, for that horsepower the lightest trans Id use would be the muncie m20.
Some of the later 5 or 6 speeds might be a good choice as well.
