Front set up ? Also:
If pie cuttin the upper improves the ball joint angle, does it also lower the front at all? And if I pie cut, so I need to do anything to the lower?

No.
Pie cutting helps to keep the balljoints from binding when air'd out. I have no idea what year truck you are working on,... but most C10's will not lay on the front crossmember, but the lower a-arms.
