so how would I know if I installed the TC/tranny and it didnt double drop?
I'mm 99% sure it did but the rebuilt tranny i installed "feels" different running the selector through the gears. seems to shift fine running around the parking lot but wanted to verify if theres any i could have screwed up on the TC before taking it on the road.

After you got it bolted to the bell housing was there clearance between the torque converter and flex plate? If there was it's good and most likely is because it's moving and you don't hear the pump eating itself.

If you didn't get it right it won't be going far.

how far is not far and what would it feel/sound like?

There was a gap of just a littlebit. i pulled the TC forward a little to bolt it to the flexplate.

You got it right if it didn't drop in the second notch it would not have turned to line up the flex plate bolts

Sounds good to me. If the trans. housing bolted up tight and you could spin the converter. Then had to slid it a little forward to meet the flexplate then all is good. Did you flush out the trans. cooler and lines before hooking them to the trans.?

nope didnt even think of that.
I have the high hump removed so the lines are right there.
what do i do? pull them off and put one in a bucket and blow air into the other one?

There's an aerosol product that cleans the cooler and lines. LubeGard makes it, works great.

Detach the upper line at the radiator cooler. Place a catch can for the trans. end of both lines. Flush with brake clean or parts wash. A dedicated trans. wash is also a good idea. In any case follow up the cleaner application while wet with a rubber tip air nozzle. Blow out both the return line and the cooler/feed line combination into the catch bucket from that one point at the upper radiator cooler fitting. When I do this I follow up with a slug of trans. fluid and blow that through too. Then hook the lines back up but only after you know clean clear fluid is coming out both lines.
