Opinions
Hi Guys, I saw this truck at a display of vintage cars and trucks. Most vehicles were stock but some were modified like this one. I thought I'd post some pics of it to gauge opinions. Wahduyathink?

The work and standard of the custom bed etc is probably really good and I bet it's very usable to haul - but it's not for me.
The truck looks simply like half an old one and half a new one slapped together. No real blended look. Probably looks better in the flesh and each to their own but I'm a big fan of stock beds and big guards. Posted via Mobile Device |

Personally the best looking version of a truck with a newer bed is this truck. I like how he tried to recreated the look of the stepside and not leave it to look like he just threw the bed on the truck. I recently heard through mutual friends that he passed way. He was a very nice gentleman may he rest in peace.
    Here are another guy I know with trucks with newer beds. Yes both trucks are owned by the same guy.

I'm with Bam that the blue one looks better than most trucks that have had a newer bed installed. That said; I'm not a fan. The wood bed to me is a big part of older truck's charm.
I also would never paint the roof of one of these trucks black. They're hot enough. A black roof would cook your brain! Posted via Mobile Device...from DODGER STADIUM! |

I wonder if anyone took some original step side steps and grafted them to a newer bed... |

I don't know about the yellow/black one, im not feeling it

The newer beds don't bother me.
I think the biggest problem is where the cab and bed meet. I seen it done a couple of different ways and thought it helped a lot. Sorry no pics. Kim |

I've also seen the false wood floors put in late model trucks that never came with them. Another "no go" in my opinion. Just isn't "era correct". Like Elvis in MC Hammer pants, lol.
