yes and i bet it bring close to 3700. I love these trucks but you can buy that truck for 2 all day long unless i'm missing something special on this one

Just because it doesn't have a title doesn't mean you wont end up with one. All you have to do is go down when you register it and request a title. Heck when you buy a truck with a title the first thing you do when you register it is give the DMV your title and then you wait for a new one. Its just like buying a lean sale truck. Or where a guy lost his original title and wants to sell his truck. It happens all the time. The price is another thing.

Good catch. The truck appears to be washed but you can't see through the plastic windshield

Law or not if you have no title, like me right now, in the eyes of the law you dont own the truck so someone could steal your truck and you cannot say thats my truck he stole my truck cause where is your documentation?

Alabama doesn't have titles on vehicles from 1975 and back. Bill Of Sale only.

I'm sure they will give all legal paper work where you could get a title.If they couldn't why would they be selling it. If they can't I think they government could be sued for fraud like anyone else selling a car without the proper paper work.

The car is being sold by the sheriff's dept as an impounded vehicle. That should mean that it has been inspected and has the paperwork to get a title or ownership papers.

That is how it is done in this state anyhow. The down side is that the vehicle usually has a salvage title even if it hasn't been wrecked.


I'd agree that the bidding seems to gone far above the normal selling price of a similar truck in most areas of the US. Competitive bidding frenzy or possibly the person or family who had it before it was impounded really wants it back for one reason or another. I went to an auction several years ago and looked at a mid 70's Caddy sedan with a 500 in it with the eye of getting it for under 300 bucks and no one else really seemed interested in it. When the auctioneer got to it a little shriveled up man about 80 years old bid something like 900 as the opening bid and the rest of us looked at each other and shook our heads. The man would have out bid me if he had bid 325 that day.

A few comments:
1-Tennessee does require titles on vehicles back to the '50s I believe. It is not like Georgia that after a certain number of years they are no longer required.
2-It is not as easy as it once was to "wash" a pre-'75 title through Alabama. You now have to take the vehicle to a Trooper station so they can see it before you can proceed to get a tag and then transfer to another state. You can't just get a tag anymore on an out of state purchase without the vehicle physically present.
3-Most sales through proper impound can get you paperwork to get a title. If not, you can get an "Artisans Lein" and go through the title process that way.
4-You do not automatically get a "salvage" brand on the title through an impound auction in Tennessee. Usually you end up with a clean, green title unless the vehicle has been totaled by insurance and abandoned for fees-but this would be unusual.
